Hayley Fletcher has just moved away from California, with its sunny weather and all her friends,
to cold and snowy New England, where she knows no one. She begins to care for a starving pony
in the field behind her house.
Just as the pony starts to get better, an accident lands Hayley in the hospital. Temporarily
blind and told she can't go home for a week, Hayley worries about the pony. Then a mysterious
stranger gives her a special gift - a kaleidoscope!
